India Pilgrimage

India  Pilgrimage

Jan. 22nd- Feb 5th 2018

For thousands of years people have traveled to India in search of answers to life’s deepest mysteries. Whether you’re coming to experience  the colorful culture or are on a spiritual quest, India has a way of re awakening our senses so that we can dive deeper into the meaning of life. We are super excited about this trip and the opportunity to serve you and share India with you through our eyes and the eyes of our teachers… and of course, through the lens of what we love: Bhakti, Yoga, and ADVENTURE!

> > I T I N E R A R Y  <<

We will fly into Mumbai and head straight to Goverdhan Eco Village for the International Bhakti Yoga Festival, 4 days of diving into the essence of India’s Yoga traditions with Radhanath Swami as well as other renowned teachers from around the world. The  Govardhan Eco Village  is situated on 50 acres of pristine farmland and aims to  demonstrate the principles of self-sufficiency and  localized economy to the world. We will stay in eco-friendly cob houses in the naturally charming village, eat local dishes made from organic grains and vegetables grown on the land and tour the facilities to  see how a group of bhakti-yogis are making a difference towards a greener world. We will practice yoga  daily, hear from Radhanath Swami, choose from an array of life changing workshops, swim in the inviting bio pool and have the option to receive Ayurvedic treatments at their world class Ayurvedic Center.
After 5 days there, we will head back to Mumbai for the Flower Festival! Thousands and thousands of colorful flower petals showering the deities and the entire temple room! The pictures make it look like the most ecstatic flower-fight- celebration ever:) We will get to hear wonderful discourses from my teacher, Radhanath Swami, at the beautifully carved sandstone Chowpatty temple as well as experience real India through the moods of celebration with God in the center.
We will then head to Rishikesh; a small town situated on the banks of the sacred Ganges River in the foothills of the Himalayas. Here we will practice Yoga & Meditation each morning, hike through the himalayan foothills, visit the local markets, and honor the sacred Ganges River.
We will spend our last few days in the most sacred of villages, Vrindavan; a village with over 5,000 temples celebrating the birthplace of Lord Krsna. Here we will visit temples and holy sites, hear stories from sadhus, do lots of kirtan (!), and partake in pilgrimage around the sacred town.

” The India Pilgrimage hosted by Dhyana and Vira is an eye and soul opening experience. You are able to stay at an internationally recognized and highly awarded Eco-Village that is peace on earth. You meet Mother Ganga up close and personal in Rishikesh and offer your own pooja to her holy waters. You get to taste, smell, hear, see, and touch India through the bus ride in the country side of India arriving in Vridavin to experience another wonderful quiet place within the hustle and bustle of a city in India. You are cared for mind, body and soul by these two wonderful souls as well as their close friends and swami for just over two weeks. There is nothing that compares to this trip. I have already done it twice.” – Kelly K., MD

“My intention was to connect to God, or spirit, or the source energy of life, or however one might conceptualize it, and that is exactly what happened.  I never really understood bhakti or devotion as a means for doing that — I remember reading the part of the Bhagavad Gita a long time ago where Krishna tells Arjuna about the 3 different yogas, and bhakti was always the one I felt I understood the least.  I thought I would get closest to peace or happiness through meditation or selfless action rather than devotion.  But practicing bhakti in India got me closer to those things than I have been in a very long time, and I really feel like the connection with God that is the source of all real happiness is now always available to me through the practices.” Anthony

This is a spiritual pilgrimage. Your heart will transform and your life will be changed if you let it. We will be diving deeply into the culture and lifestyle of Bhakti Yoga, the path of yoga that guides us towards Truth through love and devotion. We will explore yoga’s timeless philosophy which can be applied to all religions and belief systems, bringing us all to a place of unity within diversity. We will be chanting, reading the Bhagavad Gita, and really utilizing this pilgrimage as an opportunity to wake up; to connect to ourselves beyond the myriad of roles that we play in our day-to-day lives, as well as to a deeper rhythm that connects us beyond the mind, the materialism, and the distractions.
This pilgrimage is really for those soul’s seeking a deeper way to live. For those who love to have fun! … and also dive deep.  If you want to experience the depths of India, real India, not only through the eyes but through your heart, this trip may be the perfect one for you.
